Welcome to my personal website!

Trained in development economics, I am currently a co-founder and sustainability consultant at Supply Impact, an international consulting agency for mainstreaming sustainability along supply chains. I am also a research fellow at the German Development Institute in Bonn (a leading development policy think-tank).

I earned my doctoral degree in international development at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) (in Cambridge, U.S.), masters degrees in urban planning (from MIT) and applied sociology (from University of Massachusetts Boston), and bachelor degree in economics from West University of Timisoara, Romania. Given my passion for integrating sustainability into the operations of public and private sector stakeholders, I am also a professionally certified Environmental Manager and Auditor based on ISO 14001 and EMAS.

I work extensively at the intersection of theory and practice to shed light on actionable interventions that help public and private sector actors to address complex developmental challenges related to the transformation towards sustainability and digitalisation. On the practical level I advice development cooperation agencies (such as the German Ministry of Economic Development and Cooperation and GIZ) and international NGOs in Europe and abroad (such as UNIDO and UN Environment), as well as EU based institutions and national governments in developing countries on elaborating and implementing sound and sustainable economic and industrial development strategies at national and regional level. I have worked, taught, and travelled across the globe, from North Africa to the Middle East, East Asia, and North America.
